Forever 25

Several times I doubted if true love really exists here on earth. Or is it just man's excuse to fill his longing for purpose and erase his feeling of insecurity. But as I grew up and knew more of the world, I slowly figured out the truth--the truth I've grown to accept and hold.

I thank God for showing me true love throughout the years with my parent's example.

Nothing is sweeter than lying on your spouse's chest in gray hair, having the same feeling you shared 25 years ago. My mom and dad has been through the brightest and toughest of times, just as every couple have. The only difference is that they have never given up on each other and now they're renewing the same vow before God's house.

This undying love bore three fruits and that includes me! Here are some of the silver moments taken by the very talented Gianell Bendijo.

Meet my sisters, Crystal and Chelsi.
Adorable invitation boat cards!
"It could be so nice growing old with you."
One of their fave boardgames.
Happy sisters are happy.
I don't need wings. Just a light and happy heart.

You might be wondering why some of the photos of my parents were taken by the seaport. My dad is actually a Captain; hence, the four-striped gala attire. And of course, my mom, his lovely housewife should be as beautiful.  She's wearing one of Crislene's creations. Now you know where I got my fashion sense and love for the camera. It's in the genes baby!

Never have I thought that one day I'd witness my parents' Silver Wedding Anniversary. Their love is an inspiration to all of us who dream for that special someone.

I bet everyone is destined to love, but only a few are destined to last. For the coming years 'till the next life, 'till death do you part.

  1. Wow, straight from the heart of a son. This would flatter me if I were your mommy :) I have witnessed a longer part of the 25 years and I agree that their love is genuine, the till-death-do-us-part kind of love and something others, including myself, wish for. God truly blesses those who love Him with more besides, right? May they continue to inspire us as they spread love to those around them. As for you, as a recipient of that kind of love, all I can say is that you are truly blessed…it’s every child’s treasure, the foundation that guides the child to face life secured and unafraid. I can write a thousand more words about this but it will just bring me to the bottomline, that is, as you receive, give. Share the love as much as you can, pay it forward so to speak. Be magnanimous...all by His grace :)

    1. Thank you tita Mins for taking the time in reading this heartfelt post! Just like you, I could write a thousand more, but I will never be able to put into words the gravity of the love I have received throughout the years. From my family and from real friends like you. I hope I can share to you this love until the next life. I love you always!
